The Edmonton Eskimos have signed import linebacker Quinton Culberson, the club announced today. In signing Culberson, Eskimo General Manager Eric Tillman said, "Quinton is a tremendous athlete, as evidenced by his All-Conference honours at both linebacker and cornerback. His speed will be a great benefit on our bigger field, and Quinton clearly has the flexibility to start inside or outside, with the coaches determining the best spot for him during training camp. He has also been an outstanding special teams player, so that versatility makes Quinton an ideal prospect for our league." Entering the NFL in 2007, Culberson was the only undrafted free agent rookie to make the St. Louis Rams opening-day roster. He played 14 games (one start) that season posting 16 defensive tackles, 17 special teams tackles and one forced fumble. The Mississippi native went on to play another 17 games (10 starts) with the Rams over the next two seasons before being released on September 17, 2009. He went to play with the Florida Tuskers of the UFL before signing with the Carolina Panthers in December of 2009 where he played the final five games of the season primarily on special teams. The Mississippi State product ended the season tied for fourth on the team with eight special teams tackles.
