From SI.com: "The ratings for the Canadian Broadcasting Company's telecasts of CFL games have been rising this season despite having no announcers due to a labor lockout." That would be a novel idea for espn to consider...sunday night football would be more enjoyable without the constant yammering those guys inflict upon their audience...i've heard tantrums from kids that were more entertaining than them...i have yet to be able to get through an entire game listening to that announcing crew...phil simms and tim green should also exit stage left...
Actually, I remember the one time that the NFL had a nationally televised game with no announcers. I'm curious. Did anyone see that game? Remember who played?
i thought i remembered, but when i researched it, i realized i don't remember, and that i didn't watch it...and since i had to fudge quite a bit, i will refrain from answering to give others a chance
I hate most NFL network commentators. If I'm watching an Eagles game, I turn down the sound and put on WYSP. Commentators are way better on the radio than any network commentators.

I was a NFC/CBS guy.
I tried to get a date on the game and haven't found one yet. It was a Jets - Dolphins game. I believe it was early 80s.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (blackadder)</div><div class='quotemain'>Actually, I'd pay to listen to BF1 and an Eagles fan from this site or justbry broadcast a game.</div> Actually Beef does do a football broadcast on the radio on friday nights. You ask him nicely he may allow you the honor of listening :cheesey:
December 20th, 1980...Jets/Dolphins game. I enjoy Madden and Michaels, but I'd be more than happy to not have to listen to Theismann, Patrick and MacGuire.
Most of the CFL games are broadcast on TSN but I was able to watch a couple CFL games on CBC and I must say it was a much better experience without the announcers. It allows you to hear all the sounds in the stadium, the music, cheering and even the profanity from time to time. It's a more realistic viewing experience IMO, so no complaints here. The labour lockout can continue for all I care.
