OTL reported that federal prosecutors have secured 4 witnesses that will testify they saw Mike Vick take a direct role in the purchase of dogs, the breeding of dogs, the fighting of dogs, the collection and payment of bets and the execution of dogs....and this doesnt count any of the co-conspirators that may plea bargain and turn witness....If true, it sounds like the Feds have built a very strong case....I wonder if the IRS will be involved at any point if its proven that Vick had income from illegal gambling....

QUOTE (CelticKing)

I just hope that money doesn't play a role in this case and that he serves jail time.

Money is going to play a role for sure, neither of us could get his high priced lawyer to defend us....but if hes convicted, hes doing time

I dont think there is anyway for him to get out of this. He will be convicted of something, even if it is only conspiring.
The feds are going to slam the door on Vick and I dont think there is a lawyer in the world that can save him from jail time in this case, especailly with 4 witneses.

Theres also speculation that atleast one of the guys indicted with him feels like Vick abandoned him and will plea guilty and testify against Vick....this guys is going down....
Vick pleads not guilty and the court date is set for Nov. 26th, right in the middle of the NFL season....the conditions of his bond: Vickhad to surrender his passport, any brush with the law, including a traffic stop would result in his arrest, he cant leave the federal district of his primary residence....so he cant play no matter what, he cant leave the region

QUOTE (kj28)

Do you have the link to the article that says there are 4 witnesses? Thanks.

It wasnt an article, it was a television show....ESPN's Outside the Lines

I heard it on ESPNNEWS a bit ago. Vick is toast in my opinion.

4 Witness, he's toast.
But hey, if they ever make another re-do of The Longest Yard in 10-20 years he'll have great firsthand experience to share.

A lot of other people will go down with him though. If he was so big at that if you wanna call it business, then he knows a lot of other people that do it and will tell the govt about it to get a lesser sentence for himself.
