Hit Em Up.Nas's song was better lyrically but Hit Em Up was a much more powerfull song it was just damn ruthless. So I myself would take Hit Em Up over Ether.

Ether by far. I can't even explain how awesome Ether was. Hit Em Up was great too but Ether was just off the charts.

Both were totally sophomoric, but I think Ether was better...Acknowledge from Masta Ace deserves some mention as a great diss song...

Ah..two of the best diss songs of all-time [IMG] this is a really hard desicion. I like them both equally and they are both better than the other in their own way. Ether was just an amazing song in which Nas just killed Jay-Z with his lyrics and cleverness. Hit Em Up was just an extrodinarily powerful song with alot of good punchlines and alot of cleverness as well by pac. Since I like them both equally that is all I have to say about them.BTW a fun fact: The voice at the start of Ether that says "F*ck Jay-Z" is actually Tupac's voice syncornized.

Well, I think Hit Em Up is better. It really caught me straight from the beginning when he says,<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>First off, F*ck your bi*chAnd the click you claimWest side when we rideCome equipped with gameYou claim to be a playaBut, I F*cked your wifeWe bust on Bad Boysniggas F*ck for Life</div><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Little Kim,Don't F*ck around with real G'sQuick to snatch your ugly ass, off the streets</div>And the hook "You punks shot me but didnt finish, now your going to feel the wrath of a menace"

Ether was a better diss. The 2nd half is especially ruthless. But yeah, Hit 'Em Up is a much better song, rhymes are better, beat is better, and it's a lot easier to listen to. It also gets me pumped before basketball games and when I'm working out.BTW, has anyone heard the stillmatic freestyle, H to the OMO by Nas? That was also a great diss by Nas.

They are both equal and it just depends on what you like better, They both obviously used their strongest points, Tupac's straightforward non-forgiving authorty over the mic with catchy and hard hitting punch lines, While NaS used his great lyrical ability and amazing lines. Both were very very good diss songs and personally my 2 favorite diss songs ever.1
