    Design and quality? It's a bloody football, what can you do? You have dimples in it to make it go further, and padding to make it hurt less when you kick it hard, what else.
    Oh sorry I forgot, you get gandalf to put a spell on it to make it goal-seeking.

    They have been making the balls out of new materials to make them more lightweight, and in change, there's more swerving and curl. Also, they make them more durable, and I think some companies are even ruling out stitching all together. People care about the design because some of them collect footballs, and you wouldn't want to see a brown ball in the EPL, would you?
