In this thread we discuss and share our appreciation and love for Maurice Evans, because this guy is one of our only bright spots in a season of injury, innactivity and doubts of our playoff abilities. i really love having evans on this team, he is averaging almost 10 points UNDER kobe, now that doesnt happen everyday. i hope that there are some more laker fans here who appreciate evans as much as i do (and i think he deserves his own thread, seeing as even bynum has a thread).
I think he is one of the best guys on the team. He almost always does the right thing on the court (which makes him about the only guy on this team to do that). I like his style of play. Check my sig.
I don't mind him, he takes a lot of terrible shots and early shots, but he also makes a fair share. He's nothing to rave about, but a good role player.

What I like about him are his hustle plays and the energy he brings to the squad. Commenting on what Mamba mentioned, I think there are times when he comes in and launches shots. Granted, he does make a majority of them, that is one part of his game where I dislike. Either way though, the guy is a HUGE upgrade over Devean George. He also has the built of a football player
Evans was the best addition in the Lakers team this year. Once Luke returns he could be our six man. He is definitely consistent given the PT. He is a wing man and knows how to play around the baskety really well. Could be a great roll player in a championship team. Just needs to work a bit on his defense.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He wasn't last year.</div> Yeah I forgot he came from the Pistons. Although I never tought the Pistons were real contenders. Dallas should have won it last year.
Maurice didn't exactly fit in with the Pistons though, did he Allnet? If I remember correctly, you said that. (I'm not being sarcastic, I'm actually aking)

They just burnt out near the end of the playoffs and didn't perform. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Maurice didn't exactly fit in with the Pistons though, did he Allnet? He was a guy expected to play good defense but his D was bad overall. Carlos Delfino is one of the reasons why Mo was moved in the first place.
What was Detroit thinking getting rid of him? I don't know......keep Cheick Samb, Mo Evans is a flat out beast. Period.
From what I've seen of him, he comes across as kinda greedy and he jacks up shots like there's no tommorow.
<div class="quote_poster">Laker_fan Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">From what I've seen of him, he comes across as kinda greedy and he jacks up shots like there's no tommorow.</div> I was kind of thinking the same thing. His defense isn't that stellar either.... I see him as a nice surge of offense for our second unit. Nothing more.
Lol at him coming out and having a big shooting night after we criticized his shot selection. Maybe we should do this more!
The guy isn't any better than Smush. He's a jacker, gets no boards, no dimes, no steals, and most of the time, he is off shooting. I'll take Smush's 12 over Mo's 8. The only reason why I like him at all is because he gives Kobe a rest. I'd much prefer Laron Profit.
The Lakers are undefeated when Mo Evans starts. He's put together a string of solid games, including a career night last night against the Warriors. I'm also disappointed in his defense, but his offense has been much needed off the bench. I'm not sure what happened to his defense. He was great defending Ray Allen a few seasons ago in the playoffs, when Mo was with the Kings. He came in the game and slowed Allen down. Maybe he'll discover his defense again in the post-season.
