After three years working with Jeff Van Gundy on the sidelines in Houston, Patrick Ewing has resigned as assistant coach of the Rockets, KRIV in Houston reported on its Web site. Ewing is leaving the team to spend more time with his family, the station reported, citing sources close to the team. The sources also said that the organization does not intend to replace Ewing, which would mean an increased role for assistant coach Charlie Ward, a former teammate of Ewing. ESPN.comWow i guess they are going to dpend on Mutumbo and the trainers to develop Yao. Hate to so Pat go

Personally, I think Yao is great right now. He doesnt need anymore help. He's becoming a top C in the league and his game is sick. It would be nice to have Mutombo around but I dont think Yao needs his help.

Wouldn't hurt to have the Dream around and help him out.

I think that Yao needs to toughen up and change his idea of the game because he is too soft to become a dominant center in this league. I hope Dikembe or someone of that caliber can put some attitude into Yao because basketball in the United States isn't about friends and family time like it is in China.

Well Yao has gotten better in terms of "trying" to dominate. He actually has improved a good bit imo
