QUOTE

Sep 21 - Imagine a revitalized Seattle Center with a new Memorial Stadium built upon a huge underground parking garage, adjacent to a rebuilt Center House that included a glass-encased Fun Forest. All sitting next to a sparkling new arena that remained home to the Sonics and Storm.

If you think that sounds far-fetched, picture this even zanier scenario: Chris Van Dyk, well-known Seattle activist and professional sports antagonist, teaming with Save Our Sonics director Brian Robinson to piece together just such a proposal.

"We've never been anti-Sonics or anti-Mariners," said Van Dyk, the leading lobbyist of Citizens for More Important Things. "We've been anti-tax subsidies for people with a whole lot of money.

"The bottom line is, Brian has figured out a way to enable the Sonics to stay at Seattle Center without unduly tapping the taxpayers for a Sonics subsidy." -- Seattle Post-Intelligencer

I hope Clay Bennett sells to potential local owners and then we could keep the Sonics here in Seattle...
