"Disgraced former New York Giant Plaxico Burress will be released from prison three months early, state corrections officials said Friday. Burress has been in prison since September 2009 after he was convicted on gun charges for shooting himself in the leg at a Manhattan nightclub in November 2008. Burress will be conditionally released June 6. He could have stayed at Oneida Correctional Facility until late September, officials said. Burress was denied early release and work release several times. All inmates are eligible for conditional release when they've served 6/7ths of their term. Burress began his sentence 10 months after he shot himself through the right thigh with an illegal Glock handgun."
