    "Defenseman Brett Lebda was back at Joe Louis Arena on Saturday morning skating as the newest member of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

    Lebda, who played for the Red Wings in 2005-10, signed a one-year deal with Columbus on Thursday after playing in 26 games with Springfield in the American Hockey League. He was a healthy scratch and did not play Saturday.

    Lebda admitted it was tough to return to the minors this season after playing 41 games last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

    "It was tough to take, but you gotta swallow your pride and work as hard as you can and try to get back here (to the NHL)," said Lebda, who turned 30 on Jan. 15. "I went down there and did just that and got a good opportunity down there. Played a lot of minutes, and I think that's going to help me coming back.""
