http://www.dailyemerald.com/mobile/...n-running-backs-cope-with-redshirts-1.1747668 Nice insight into Lache and Williams.
I REALLY hope they both stick it out. Talk about an amazing duo they could be. And with Sumler and Randall coming in? In a few years, that is a sick multitude of talent. QB - Randall RB - Seastrunk/Williams (similar to Stewart and Johnson or Johnson and Blount?) WR - Sumler Tough for any team to compete with. Excellent.
I'm still wondering how they're going to find carries for Seastrunk if James and Barner are both here next season.
Maybe one will be switched to a combo wide receiver/running back position. I've had those same thoughts, though.
I mean, I guess they could try to sell him on waiting another year since he'll only be a redshirt freshman, and I don't see James staying past his Junior season.
It's crazy that Oregon is so deep. I remember in '97 asking how could we ever replace Saladin McCullough after his 1400+ yard season. I was surprised that LSea "Lake" committed to Oregon after seeing what a young LMJ did last year. I guess when you like a program and have confidence in your skills, you just go where you want because you're confident you'll see playing time. I think we'll see LSea sharing KO duty and stepping into the role that Alston has filled this year. He certainly has the speed (4.41) to be a receiver and it's a role we could use him in, I just haven't heard this is a position he's filling during practice/scout time.
That's a good point. Why would a HS player, knowing he had someone in front of him for two seasons go to that school far from home?
Not just ONE guy, but two. Unless he's ahead of Barner on the depth chart next season. I really think James will be gone after next season, so Seastrunk will get at least three years that he could be the starter.
