Suggestions? I'm looking at getting some dark frames. My first choice so far are the Tom Ford 5013's: I also dig some of the vintage frames as well:
This is how it started. You opened your new Sgt. Pepper album and inside was John with glasses@@! We had no idea he wore them. He had never worn them in public till then, 3 years after Ed Sullivan. Old fashioned round glasses were now considered cool new hippy glasses and everyone wanted them.
Lennon's glasses may be the only thing in that picture that should ever be allowed to be photographed again. The hair, the moustaches, the "uniforms", the hand gestures... Then again, I think ABM's next "boyz nite out" will have a group photo that looks exactly like that, so what do I know?
I have a pair of Prodesign Denmark 7606. http://www.prodesigndenmark.com/en-US/Products.aspx?ID=2&ModelNumber=7606&x=0&y=0 I have the black/yellow ones.
I was looking at those Tom Fords, but they were really crappy when I saw them in person. You might want to check out Warby Parker, they have them at the Lizard Lounge...they are like 99 bucks WITH the lens. http://www.warbyparker.com/ I have Oliver Peoples and a pair of Paul Smiths and they are really nice...check out the oliver peoples NDGs...they have a cool gradient color..they also have all black... http://www.contactsandspecs.com/oliver-peoples-eyeglasses/Oliver-Peoples-Eyewear-Albert-J-11228.aspx
Is that what nerds are calling glasses now? "Eyewear"? HAHAHAHAHAHA! WHatever makes you guys feel better!
Okay, if you don't like the natural look like human males have looked for millions of years, well then here are the same glasses, but in the military garb you prefer.
human males have not looked like unkempt metrosexuals for millions of years. Layering your hair, then growing it out and shaving your facial hair into a faux-Tombstone look isn't "natural," either.... Sorry that you took that as an attack on your heroes. Wasn't meant that way.
What kind of opponent are you? NEVER say you're sorry to me!! Save that for the women! On second thought, NEVER say that to them, either! Anyway, it's how most of us looked, not how just a few heroes looked. It was great and the women loved the look, too. From about 1969-1984, young military guys would come into town on a weekend and be embarrassed that they had short hair.
I'm just seeing a tiny red X in a little box, but it's probably because I haven't washed my glasses today.
Truer words were never spoken. Aside from a Labor Day party with mountains of coke and hookers around, ABM's boyz nites are my party nirvana.
