Just picked up the game yesterday and I'm liking it thus far. It seems like it's got a solid story behind it, even though it's not technically a continuation of the story from the original F.E.A.R. The gunplay in it is pretty awesome. I'm only on chapter 3, and there's already been quite a few intense gunfights. So yea...so far, so good, can't wait to get further in to it.

I enjoyed the last game. Played it through two or three times on the PC.

I don't know if I'll pick this one up. Seems like a rehash.

Haha, you wish man. I probably shouldn't have even bought it, but I did because I was looking for a new game outside of 2K9 to play.

To be honest, how many FPS' don't seem like rehashes anymore? Especially sequels.

It's really, really tough to make an original feeling FPS anymore. The last one that I can think of that really broke barriers to an extent was Bioshock, which is easily the best FPS out there (unless you want to call Fallout 3 and FPS).

Regardless, F.E.A.R. 2 is a really, really good game. It might be a bit of a rehash, but thus far, the solo campaign seems a lot better than most FPS solo campaigns.
