The 28-year-old rapper, whose legal name is John Jackson, was shot once in the thigh when a male with a gun approached him and three others and opened fire, police spokesman Sgt. Mike Wysokowski said. The four jumped into a vehicle and fled, attracting the attention of police when they ran a red light. Officers stopped them and discovered two loaded guns in the vehicle, both of which were apparently unlicensed, Wysokowski said. All four men were arrested, and charges were pending. The rapper was taken to a hospital. Police were searching for the shooter.Police did not identify the three men arrested with the rapper, saying only that they are 18, 23 and 29 years old.The Brooklyn native's hits have included, "Breathe" and "Can't Deny It," and his songs cover topics ranging from romance to street life and violence. He recently took part in the taping of the VH1 Hip Hop Honors, which were to air Tuesday evening. An e-mail seeking comment from a representative at Def Jam Recordings was not immediately returned early Tuesday. The label is producing the rapper's upcoming solo album, due out in December, according to Fabolous' Web page on MySpace.com.

ouch... damn thas some sh*t ill try and find out more info when I go to DefJ on thursday, on his album for those who care. It's a good thing he is alright, but this could be very big in the promotion for his next solo album. Look at 50.. most people then wanted to be a gangsta who got shot 9 times and his album blew the charts... Might not happen to Fabolous but, it might help. Still this was a bad situation.

Yeah, I heard about this. Pretty sad I'm a big fan of his, hope he can recover from this and make an album about it.
I like Fab. I hope he bounces back strong. As long as he doesn't make an entire album revolving around one topic (*cough 50 Cent *cough, cough!), then I'll be cool with him making a song about the incident, even though I'm getting tired of rappers always talking about them getting shot.
I just heard some potentially interesting news about this on ESPN. Apparently someone ripped Sebastian Telfair's chain off him in a night club Monday night. Apparently Bassy refused to identify the RAPPER that did it. That night, Fabolous was shot outside of that very same night club? Could someone sticking up for Bassy have to do with this? Hmmmm...

Fabolous had loaded guns in his car, thats why he was arrested...idiots...they have everything in the world and they still act like street rats.
Yeah, I thought this was going to be a good "basketball shot" also. I like the song, "Breathe" but I havnt heard much of his other stuff. It's too bad that rappers have to be involved with gangs, and such.
