Michel Fabrizio has given his flagging World Superbike campaign a significant shot in the arm with a dominant lights-to-flag victory at Kyalami.

The Italian snatched the lead at the first bend from fourth position on the grid before pushing hard on the opening few laps to open up a sizeable gap over fellow Ducati rider Carlos Checa.

From here Fabrizio would maintain his advantage to the chequered flag, Checa's best efforts to reduce the one second deficit being reduced to a determined, but brief mid-race charge.

In what was a fairly uneventful race, Fabrizio made his defining move as the lights went out, the Xerox rider sliding his 1198 up the inside of James Toseland through the opening right-hand sweep before holding sway into the first tight bend.
