"Our attention to detail down the stretch was great," the Sixers' coach said after his team's 108-106 victory over the Nuggets. "We've practiced these types of situations where we have a lead, or we're down, and it paid off."
Cheeks talked about the same subject prior to Saturday's game against Utah, saying, "I think our attention to detail is back."
As optimistic as Cheeks wants to be, it's clear that "attention to detail" isn't part of the Sixers' current makeup. The team stands at 1-3 - with all three defeats coming against teams with sub-.500 records - on its current stretch of seven road games.
The Sixers coughed up yet another fourth-quarter lead against the Jazz, getting outscored by 16-3 in the final three minutes to lose, 108-102, and sink to the .500 mark for the sixth time this season.

what a dissapointment this has been for the sixers. i had high hopes coming into the season that they were going to be special, but unfortuanalty, they are just another team in the nba. i hope things get better for them this year (2007) because in 2006 they did not live up to expectations.

I think your a year ahead of everyone else Phila, we are in 2006 last year was 2005. Anyway, like I said in another thread this team has a lot of young players, as well as veterans, that are playing key roles in there first year as a 76ers. Shavlik, Barnes, Nailon, Hunter, and even a player like Bradley who has seen some minutes this year. They are still trying to figure each other out what motivates each other, and how to work together. I will give them at least until the all star break to find a way to be consistent by then they should have it together.
