he Fairbanks Grizzlies used a patient offense to gain their first Indoor Football League win of the season, a 57-43 decision over the Allen Wranglers of Texas on Friday night in the Carlson Center.

Grizzlies quarterback Ryan Ratekin described the offense as “run first and kind of take what they give us.”

Ratekin’s offensive line mostly gave him enough time to pass for 224 yards and four touchdowns to help Fairbanks overcome an 0-3 start.

“The passing game opened up a little this game and we were able to exploit some things with the stuff that we practiced during the week and it just really worked out for the better for us today,” said Ratekin, who completed 14 of 26 passes with two interceptions and was sacked twice.
