Where did Smith's promising second season go wrong?

Smith's problems didn't just start this year. His troubles began last season, while playing on a dreadful 18-64 team. With injuries, rebellious players and an influx of sub-par talent, Hornets coach Byron Scott had no choice but to let the then 19-year-old run wild on the court. .

Smith admits that he came into this season complacent, big-headed and overconfident. Byron Scott claims that Smith hasn't improved since last season.</div>

At least JR Smith is finally admitting he came into the season with the wrong attitude.

That's the first step, a small one, but at least it's a start.

One hopes he can see what he could have in the future if he matures a bit. Playing with Chris Paul will be one hell of a ride, a ride that Smith may well miss if he doesn't pull his finger out and grow up a bit.
