What do you guys think? Yes, it's only preseason, and maybe I'm overrating him, I dunno. But seriously, what... the... fuck... Has he been anything short of amazing so far? He has finally learned that with his speed, he should be taking advantage of it and driving to the hoop instead of turning into a three point shooting chucker. I have been VERY pleased with his performance so far, you can tell he really worked on his game this offseason. I love watching him play because he just makes the game so much more exciting. Him and Ariza are a nice 1-2 punch of the bench, quick, athletic, and fun to watch. But anyways, back on topic, I know at the end of last year everyone was down on him. He played horrible basketball after the J-Critt trade, and I would literally cringe everytime he stepped on the court. But so far, he has definitely proved me wrong. Farmar's got fight in him and I love to see that (ex: PJ Brown last year in the Finals). He's a tough nosed kid and is known as a gym rat. What's there not to like? And of course, he's only 21 years old. Fisher has one more year left on his contract, I believe, and I wouldn't be surprised if he called it quits. Would you guys feel comfortable with Farmar as our starting PG one, or two years down the line?

He recently said he's willing to wait before he pushes into becoming the eventual every day starter. Right now I prefer him off the bench running with the Minute Men, but I think we'll see Farmar closing out games with the starters in favor of DFish. He was closing out games for us last year.

Yeah as of now I like him coming off the bench. I think he's already a better player than Fish, but Fish fits better with the starting lineup. I like Farmar's energy off the bench, something Fish cannot bring. And as for Fish, I like his veteran presence and experience with the starters, something Farmar cannot provide. We have a good 1-2 punch at point guard!

With how he played in the preseason, I would absolutely be happy with him as a starter in the future. He was phenomenal in the preseason, finally, as you pointed out, using his athletic abilities to his advantage. As long as he keeps it up and has some consistency, I'd definitely be ok with handing over the reigns to him.

Exactly...he could easily be a starting PG on a NBA team just not the Lakers with the situation they have. With his offensive skills it would be a disservice to him and the Lakers if he was our starter.

I'll always remember that amazing series Fish had against Utah last year (he was ridiculous from long range, just felt like bring that up :O) despite his age, but yeah whether Farmar starts or not is ok with me.

As long as Gasol, Bynum, and Kobe are in our starting lineup, I don't want Farmar out there. Those three play better in a half court set, Farmar plays better on the run.
