The Southern Indoor Football League game Saturday night between Richmond and Fayetteville was supposed to be a hard-fought grudge match.

After all, the North Carolina visitors featured eight members of last year's Raiders' squad, as well as a former coach. Adding more intrigue to the affair was a battle for first place in the Mid-Atlantic Division of the SIFL.

Instead, the meeting quickly turned into a rout, thanks to a splendid effort — for three quarters anyway — by Richmond's defense and seven touchdown passes from quarterback Robbie Jenkins, filling in for starter Aaron Alexander for the second consecutive week.

The Raiders (4-1) bolted to a 42-10 lead after three quarters and settled for a 61-43 victory over the Force (3-2), taking sole possession of first before a crowd of 2,866, which included Gov. Bob McDonnell.
