Not counting Portland, which NBA logo's do you like? Hawks: Celtics: Nets: Bobcats: Bulls: Cavs: Mavs: Nuggets: Pistons: Warriors: Rockets: Pacers: Clippers: (for some reason the site doesn't list their new monstrosity. Alas it's fine as I'm sure no basketball fan on earth would claim it to be one of their favorites.) Lakers: Grizzlies: Heat: Bucks: T-Wolves: Hornets: Pelicans: Knicks: Sonics: Thunder: Magic: 76ers: Suns: Kings: Spurs: Raptors: Jazz: Wizards: http://www.nba.com/magic/cohen_feature_081611.html
That hawks logo is dangerous. It also can look like a broke ass Pacman or half eaten piece of wheel cheese.
Simpler is better. Just looking at current: Spurs, Heat, Brooklyn. Rockets should lose the "Houston Rockets" part and just go with the R and the swirly thing. I kind of like the Pelicans, but a version without the "New Orleans" part would be good.
Yes, this old Atlanta Hawks logo. But why print "Atlanta Hawks" under it? Just go with the logo. Same with the Heat.
That is one of the best but I think we have a couple lifetime achievement awards here for silliness in the Nuggets various logos and the Raptors for never having anything but a silly logo since inception.
I almost added this one to my list - I'm trying to parse out whether it's nostalgia, or whether I actually like the logo enough to consider it one of the best. But yeah, it would be stronger without the lettering (ditto Hawks).
I really like how few "extreme" names there are in the league. Shit like the expansion teams - Raptors, Grizzlies, Timberwolves, Bobcats, Thunder - is just corny. And Magic/Wizards is beyond corny! I hadn't really realized how many team names are esoteric or just plain representative - some of the better ones: Celtics Nuggets Pistons Pacers Clippers Lakers Bucks Knicks Trail Blazers Supersonics 76ers Jazz
I love the use of a cityscape in logos, when done right I think it's a home run. The basketball encompassing the city also carries strong symbology. I think it's a solid logo.
