<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Facing Sunday's season finale at Lambeau Field, Brett Favre says he still hasn't decided whether he'll return to the Green Bay Packers next season. And it's occurred to him that the team might not want him back."It is a business," Favre said Wednesday. "And up to this point, we're 3-12. And from a business standpoint, wouldn't you think they're sitting there going, 'OK, if we're running a risk of this happening next year, we might as well save the money and put that money elsewhere for the future'?"Packers general manager Ted Thompson said the team definitely wants Favre back."Sure we do," Thompson said. "And we're assuming he will be back."Favre has thrown a career-high 28 interceptions this season. He acknowledges he has made risky throws he wouldn't have tried in past seasons, attempting to make up for a rash of injuries that has cost the team many of its offensive playmakers this year. But does Favre really think the Packers might try to chase him off?"I've said this over the last several years: It can happen to anyone. It really can," Favre said. "I'm not immune to it. I think that the organization and myself have a great relationship, and they can be honest with me because I've always been honest. But that could happen."Thompson dismissed speculation that Favre's skills have eroded."I think he can still play, and I think he still has the passion to play," Thompson said.Favre said he and Thompson have had some discussions about the future direction of the team, although he characterized those discussions as "really nothing major."</div>2005 SEASON STATISTICSAtt Comp Yds TD Int Rat570 351 3465 19 28 70.5http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2273562

He's still got it in him. The Packers took a heavy hit this season, losing a lot of players. He cannot be the only one to blame, though he did throw 28 picks.I hope to see a guy in green, with the word FAVRE sewn on to the back of his jersey, sporting the #4 next year. This league wouldn't be the same without him.

He should just leave. I'm sick of watching him almost die every week and embarass himself even more. If he thinks they can be playoff contenders next season, he's obviously been sacked too many times.

Would your dreams come true then?

I think Favre wants the records badly. Also, he has a contract thru 2010.

Anything is possible. I know Favre has the physical attributes to return, but his psyche is getting the best of him. If Green Bay would bring in a coach that would not be afraid to get in Favre's grill instead of letting him play so wreckless, they might have a shot at something good. SB? Maybe, maybe not...but we aren't that far out of the playoff pic when we get healthy along w/ the HIGH picks we'll have. Plus we'll have over $20 mil in free cap space. Stranger things have happened.

Lets see what the kid has. </div> No offense, but I don't believe a coaching change guarantees the departure of Favre. Depends on who that coach is. Mooch? Favre stays. The possibilities are out there. There is talk of him going to Tampa, Miami, Oakland, New Orleans. Ted Thompson has voiced the fact that he wants Favre back next year, but I also think TT made it plain and simple for him. We want you back, but we're not breaking the bank on building a one year team, so to speak. I'm a Pack fan til I die. That comes first, but whatever Favre decides, I'm behind him 100%. I'd still be a Favre fan no matter his decision. Even if that means going to another team. But I can't think of any High caliber playoffs teams or contenders in need of him. Baltimore could be a decent fit, maybe even Tampa, but if he went to New Orleans...it'd prolly be like the '05 packers all over again, just different unis.

Favre has been playing in the same offensive system for 10 years now, he isnt going to learn a new offensive system for one year under a new coach. I just dont see it happening. If you fire Sherman, Favre will most likely follow.

I know what you are saying, believe me, but if a coach that knows the WC comes in, I think he'd stay. Now you are prolly dead on if a HC comes in w/ a whole new offense to learn, but Mooch(who is a long shot on the other side of hell from becoming the Pack HC) came in, he was with Favre in the 90s, so it could work. I've also seen reports that Sherman is going nowhere due to the lack of prospects on the market. Sad way to hold onto your job, but whatever. I think Sherman has lost Favre anyways. He coddles him, makes excuses for him, and is the only reason he still has his HC postition, IMO.

I think Favre will play until 2010 when his contract expires. He needs 3 more years for the all time record of consecutive games played, and a couple more years to break all the QB records. Then he's playing for the Benjamins.
