Republicans, throughout the Trump administration, were vocal about abuses of FISA after the FBI obtained a FISA warrant against former Trump campaign aide Carter Page. Wray last year called the actions taken to obtain that FISA warrant "unacceptable" and told Congress they "cannot be repeated." But last week, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence declassified an opinion from the FISC – the court with oversight of the FISA system – which Jordan and Biggs said revealed the FBI "has been seriously and systematically abusing its warrantless electronic surveillance authority." The opinion was from November 2020 and detailed the FBI's "apparent widespread violations" of privacy rules in conducting surveillance under section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. "We write to request information about the FBI's illegal spying activities," Jordan, of Ohio, and Biggs, of Arizona, wrote to Wray Tuesday.
Trump should have pardoned Snowden and especially Assange. The only difference between Assange and a reporter for mainstream news publishing leaked information is that the reporters’ information is wanted by one side or the other to be leaked.
I have never been particularly impressed with the FBI, nor have I ever believed that they do things by the book, but major turdballs like Jim Jordan and Andy Biggs have no business calling anyone out about anything. By the Democrats’ silence on the FISC report on the FBI’s prolonged abuse of power, I have to assume they condone the FBI illegally spying on citizens and perhaps even encourage it. So the S2 Team Democrats’ only response is the Jordan and the other guy are shitheads, so they shouldn’t demand the USA’s federal law enforcement agency to actually follow the law when getting FISA warrants to spy on citizens. So a Biden appointee unclassified an opinion report by the FISA court from Nov 2020. Seems like a good thing to me. Seems like a first step in getting the FBI to follow federal law. And I know nothing about Biggs but I do know that Jordan is, imo, a piece of shit.
I think all politician at the national level are pieces of shit. Both parties. Watching Democrats embrace Liz “Bush Lied People Died” Cheney (R-Halliburton) because she hates Trump and is paid for by military contractors has been very entertaining.
