<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Big Nasty:</div><div class="quote_post">STANFORD, Calif. (AP) -- Stanford coach Mike Montgomery saw this coming, and issued a warning.

The rival team was playing on the Cardinal's home court a week after their upset of Arizona -- a letdown waiting to happen.

Matt Lottich scored 15 points and Stanford (No. 4 ESPN/USA Today, No. 3 AP) remained unbeaten with a 68-61 victory over California on Saturday night in the first meeting of the season between the schools.

"We talk to these guys all the time to guard against all the nonsense people talk about," Montgomery said, referring to the school's third-best start ever. "All it means is we've been pretty good up to now. It doesn't mean we're better than anybody. If you start to think, that translates into something; that's when you're in trouble."</div>
