you realize that this would never happen right? division winners go 1,2,3... then it goes by record... cleveland... chicago... same division dallas... san antonio... same division
Not really sure if it belongs in the Magic forum, but it sounds like he's just hyping the team up, just like most players would do about their own team.
I like the direction that the Bobcats are going in, but it's too early to be thinking playoffs. Maybe in 2-3 years, but first they have to stay healthy for an entire season and second they have to gain chemistry between them. (It goes hand and hand though)
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MickyEyez:</div><div class="quote_post">you realize that this would never happen right? division winners go 1,2,3... then it goes by record... cleveland... chicago... same division dallas... san antonio... same division</div>Division winners no longer go 1-2-3, now they just get 3 of the top 4 spots, that way we don't have the two best teams playing eachother in the semi-finals again, like what happened with San Antonio and Dallas this year. So technically, Cleveland and Chicago could go 2-3 and the Spurs and Mavs could do the same. As long as all three division winners are in the top 3, the rankings are ok. As for the 'Cats making the playoffs, I definitely think it's possible. They got a great young team and will have a heck of a good starting lineup if it can stay healthy. Felton/Morrison/Wallace/May/Okafor is pretty damn good in my opinion. It's going to be pretty strong defensively and they should get plenty of scoring punch, with Morrison potentially leading the way (I think he's going to step in and do great, scoring 16-20ppg this year). So, while it might not happen, it's definitely possible. The one thing that really hurts them is how competitive the East will be this year. I really think you might have to land at least 43-45 wins just to get in this year, where for the last few years, the bottom teams were getting 37-41 wins. I think the competition will be better this year and that the teams have gotten better, and for a change, some above .500 teams might actually miss out in the East instead of just out West. So, I really don't think it'll be the lack of talent this year that could stop them, cause they're highly talented and I think will have some great chemistry, I simply think the only thing that'll stop them is how tough the East will be this year. However, if they can finally win those close games, they could squeak in.
^ even if he has no atlantic teams in the top 4. i really think the reason he posted this is to show he thinks orlando will go 5th or w/e

i think the year after this coming year (07-08) they're gona make it as the number 7 seed or so, maybe even higher, depending on injuries and okafor (played only 26 games this past season and 99 for his career while dwight is at 164)

However, that doesn't mean they'll go 1-2-3 like it used to be. This year, the team with the 2nd best record is GUARANTEED the 2nd seed, even if the team is from the same division as the 1st seed. After that, the other two division winners get 3 and 4 based on record.
so what if say houston the third best record in the west but the other 2 belong to san antonio and dallas?

With the addition of Vlade, Shammond, and Kwame starting at C there is no way the Lakers don't make it to atleast the 8th spot. Orlando is good but not a 5th Playoff spot good, maybe 7th or 6th if you want to stretch it. Also I wish you people would stop counting the Bobcats out. They lost 2 of their bigs and had Felton start out rocky due to injuries. It would be like losing Dwight and Bo or Battie then having Jameer come off rocky. It's an obvious setback, that in no way means the team is not capable of atleast getting, again, an eigth spot. No doubt in my mind that Charlotte doesn't atleast get an 8th spot. You have to factor in the returns of their bigs, having Felton at 100%, and the addition of Adam Morrison. And Phoenix at 1st spot? I hardly think they'll make number 1.
