    Sources: Injury Clouds 3-Team Deal

The Bobcats, Mavericks and Thunder were close to a three-team deal, but those talks have now gone dormant according to NBA front office sources.

ESPN.com reported that the deal would have sent Raymond Felton, Nazr Mohammed and Sean May from Charlotte to Dallas, landed Earl Watson and Dallas' DeSagana Diop with the Bobcats and shipped Jerry Stackhouse to the Thunder along with a future second-round pick.

However, Charlotte rookie D.J. Augustin was injured in last Tuesday's win over Boston, which could keep the Bobcats from dealing Felton.

I still think Felton is a decent prospect. I don't know if he's an All-Star, and he's probably not Devin Harris, but he's definitely worth a look.

Dallas would have a tiny back court.

I think this trade is more about parting ways with Diop for some decent projects (one year tryouts for Felton and May). I would personally follow this up with a trade of Barea+nonstarter for someone like Anthony Parker or another semi-productive wing (Keith Bogans?). May, when in shape, can do good things. Nazr is garbage but at least he isnt Diop. Felton was a first round pick and maybe under the tutelage of Jason Kidd he can develop into a player in our long-term future. We NEED a trade - I say go for it

    Make this happen Cuban!

Felton is what Dallas needs, another scoring punch and some quickness. When Devin left, we lost our only player who could consistently get to the hole, and Felton can make up for that. On the defensive end, at 6'4", Kidd is tall enough to guard the 2s (though still not quick enough). Felton will guard the point guard and let Kidd handle the SGs. Only problem would be when Felton and Terry are both in the game, but that'd be a pretty deadly offensive combo.

Also, this deal would rid us of Diop and his monster contract. We all know Diop is not a full MLE player, so why not trade him for someone who is actually worth what he is paid (Felton and May)? Besides, Diop's been having a horrible year compared to the previous years he's had in Dallas. I think he's highly expendable with his lack of productivity and crappy contract.

Don't know if I want Nazr at +6mil a year for 3 more years though.

Clearly, the Mavs are nowhere near done with trading for players they think can help them in the long and short term
