My greatest fear about an incoming GM is that he'll try and make a "stamp" when he gets here, probably by trading away a fan favorite or something for less than he's worth. If he trades Oden, well, I'd start a one man riot.

Ferry will have considerably less pressure here than he had in Cleveland, IMO. I don't think he did a bad job in Cleveland at all. He surrounded "the best player in the NBA" with plenty of talent. Unfortunately for Ferry their coach was an idiot and LeBron isn't a true Alpha Killer like Kobe. I don't blame Ferry for Cleveland's inability to win it all. But I do give him credit for them having the best record in the NBA last year. I'd be ok with Ferry. Despite his name. Haha..

Please, Kobe's not even close to Lebron right now. He gets patted on the back when he has a 24-4-4 40% chokage against the Thunder. In case you forgot he played like shit in the regular season and LA still won 57 games.

Ferry's the idiot that kept Mike Brown in charge. He approved of that coach and he was content with keeping a choker like Mo on his roster (take a look at his playoff production). That supporting cast was not built for the playoffs, or past their prime (Antawn).

See that's what we need! Someone who'll go that extra mile to lure those free agents.

I wonder if Ferry has any connections to Lebron? He surely knows him, don't ya think?

Mike Brown was an excellent coach during the regular season and the previous years in the playoffs. Far better than Nate, anyway. He just choked this year because he didn't have the balls to not play Shaq instead of Hickson. He lost the respect of his team after that.

Yeah Jamison and Shaq had played a combined zero minutes together, before the playoffs. Then the defensive issues in the front court began.

He failed in recognizing defensive matchups. Should have benched Shaq for Andy more often.

If the team regresses at all, it's Ferry's fault. Less pressure nationally? Sure. More pressure locally? I say so.

Plus, he'd likely be making 4x what Pritchard was making.

I'll give Ferry a chance here if he's hired. He was pressured into a win-now mode in Cleveland, and had to take some big risks in a small window to try to keep LeBron around. I'm sure he won't run amok and try to change everything here. He has experience making trades and dealing with FAs, and that's the direction the Blazers are heading into now. We could do a lot worse.. and we're not going to get a Sam Presti or RC Buford anyway.
