Atlanta outscored the Fever 13-4 in the fourth quarter. Indiana had 11 turnovers in the period and matched a WNBA record with the fewest points in one quarter. The Fever's only buckets came on a jumper by Tamika Catchings with 3:20 to play, and a layup by Katie Douglas with 4.2 seconds remaining. Atlanta knotted the score at 58 on a putback by Erika de Souza with 5:14 left in the game. The Dream led 59-58 on a free throw by Armintie Price, but Catchings' jumper on the right wing put the Fever back in the lead, 60-59. Catchings' jumper ended a 6:44 scoring drought since Briann January's bucket to close the third period. Indiana never trailed in the third, using 9-2 and 5-0 runs to lead by as many as 7 (50-43 at 4:26 on two free throws by Ebony Hoffman). The first half featured 16 lead changes and four ties. Indiana took the lead on a 3-pointer by Katie Douglas with 18.9 seconds remaining in the half. Indiana took a 38-37 lead into the third period. Tully Bevilaqua returned to the Fever's starting lineup, replacing second-year point guard Briann January. The same lineup switch was made last season after an 0-2 start and resulted in Indiana's franchise-record 11-game win streak. Fever coach Lin Dunn - "I'd like to give Atlanta credit, but I thought we just shot ourselves in the foot. We made some big, key mistakes down the stretch. We had control of that game and we let it get away from us. I was very disappointed we didn't close it out."
