A clear majority, 58%, say they do not think of America in this way, after Americans were divided 49% to 49% in the summer of 2008.
There are "haves" and "haves-a-shit-ton-more." The haves-a-shit-ton-more club is getting smaller and more elite at a faster and faster pace, mostly due to the nature of automation combined with lobbying and tax policy. The "haves" club isn't growing much, but it's at least progressing slightly and slowly. But the trends are alarming. The point about OWS isn't that 99% of us are "have nots." That's clearly not the case.
