We've played 7, so has Atlanta.

Every other team in the league has played more games at home:

    12 for Boston
    11 for Orlando
    11 for Utah
    11 for the Clips
    10 for Cavs
    10 for New York
    10 for Denver
10 for Seattle (I'm not giving in the the OKC thing)
    10 for The Scum
    10 for Sacramento
    10 for San Antonio

    Everyone else 8 or 9.

    Us and Atlanta: 7.

Yet we are first in the division. I'm very impressed so far.

    It is rather impressive.

I love the fact that we have a winning record on the road. How cool is that?! I think our depth is largely the reason, along with Roy in the fourth quarter, of course!

Also factor in that Portland has played a larger total number of games than a lot of teams and it becomes even more impressive. For example, the Blazers have played 20 games, so only 35% of their games have been at home. By contrast, the Lakers have played 17 games, so 59% (really 64, because one of their "road" games was the Clippers) of theirs have been at home.

(Atlanta's also only played 17 games, so 41% of their games were at home. We win!)

I'd also point out that with 13 road games, we're leading in that stat as well. Atlanta's only played 10 road games despite having the same number as the Blazers of only 7 home games.

this bodes very well as we are a GREAT home team. out of 34 more games at home, we can pretty much guarantee at least 25? 25-9? sounds about right. so if we can win 12-28 road games that puts us at 51 wins. this sounds pretty reasonable, almost lower end of the spectrum actually.

    purely wild speculation though.

Not so wild, in my opinion. Remember, last year's team had a 13-game winning streak, and this year's team is even better (and deeper). I don't think our current success is a fluke. We're for real, and we should continue to get better as the season progresses. We've still got new guys trying to learn the system, and of course Oden should continue to improve as he gains more confidence.

8 of the 12 games in December are at home. Another heavily favored month is March with 10 home games. It was just due time that our home games would catch up to us.

With the exception of the Lakers and Clippers, home games even out for everyone.
