I was talking to a guy who flew from Jersey to see the Charlton game and as were walking to the train station (nice one british rail by the way) after the game we were talking about Glen and his future at the club. Within about 30 seconds it was all about FFS and what he was going to do. He does have a history of giving new managers money but he has also got a history of dithering over who he gets to spend that money as well. Wether it is sacking a manager without lining up a replacement, giving the new guy no time to build the team he wants, interfering in trasfers or being fixated on the whole Geordie/English thing FFS is not building for the future. Building for the future does not mean just buying young players. It involves a long term plan. Thats right Freddie.....A PLAN. Not stumbling from one mistake to another. Case in point is Souness. Bobby was sacked (for a poor start to the season/Fred didn't like him/whatever) but there was no replacement lined up. As a result we all watched in horror as manager after manager said no. Eventually we signed a manager who was one loss from being sacked at Blackburn and who has a track record that made me shudder (only won more than a third of his total games at the club at Galatasaray). Souness was then stuck with a squad he couldn't really add to until January. Well planned mate. Worked out well didn't it! As for the British/Geordie issue he needs to wake up and look around the premiership. Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea & Liverpool all have foreign managers and the replacement for Fergie won't be British. As far as I am concerned the manager could be green with his eyes on stalks and only communicate by a series of beeps and clicks as long he is successful. No manager of any reputation will come to the club while FFS is in charge. Our solution : someone will have to buy the club before we can think about improvement. With him at the helm any decent manager will steer clear of us
