Fielder and the Tigers’ Offense Comes Alive to Beat the Chicago White Sox

To say that the Detroit Tigers had to beat the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night is an understatement. With just a game remaining with the White Sox after Wednesday, and not trying to bury themselves farther down in the division, it was a huge win for the Tigers.

Early in the game it was looking like another night where the Tigers’ offense was not going to score a single run off the replacement starter, Gavin Floyd.

Floyd, who was put into the rotation to replace Fransico Liriano, was cruising along. In his first four innings off work, Floyd surrendered only just two hits and no runs. But in the fifth inning the Tigers finally got to Floyd.
