USA won vs Vietnam 3-0. Should've been a massacre. Portland Thorns' Sophia Smith with 2 goals and an assist. 2nd goal went between the goalie's legs.

Was a great game, but the US missed tons of easy shots.

That Canada game was fantastic. Tough miss by Sinclair on that PK, but amazing save.

I think the US will take 3-0 all the way thru the tourney regardless of who they are playing.

Another underwhelming performance. Feels like the girls are underestimating their opponents.

No, I think you're the one underestimating their opponents. The world has simply closed the gap. They looked a lot better the second half though.

I don't follow soccer but are they underestimating their opponents or are they just not experienced enough?

I think the biggest issue is they have a lot of new people who are not use to together. The more they play and get use to each other the better their passes will be. The real question is did they sing the national anthem? put their hands over their hearts. I mean that is the most important thing. It doesn't matter that other athletes are not held to that same standards, but that doesn't matter. funny how much hate these women get. The game really turned once Rose came in and calmed down the midfield.

Right wing falling over themselves trying to find a reason to hate American athletes. Because Trump. They stood respectfully for anthem. Most people don't sing along. Military never does.

Avoided an Australian family vacation because I thought it would be crowded and wanted to be able to enjoy each location without it being busy. Looking at the crowds in some of the locations, maybe should have went.

I couldn't care less about standing for the anthem, but it's really hard to support a team that's lying to the media about equal pay and feeding a narrative that has been repeatedly disproven in court.

This video lays out all the facts about the lawsuits and how much money the women have made compared to the men.

You can literally look up the court documents. The women made more money than the men because they negotiated in their CBA that they collect a yearly salary and other benefits. The men do not. US Soccer offered the women the same deal as the men and they opted not to take it because they get guaranteed money, while the men get more money if they were to win a World Cup. So because soccer shut down during COVID, the women actually made more money than the men.

The judge threw it out because the women are asking to not only keep their deal where they get a yearly 100k salary, but they ALSO want the bonus structure that the men get for winning a world cup.

So yes.... the athletes are lying. ESPN is lying.
