Former UFC fighter Brian Foster competed in WSOF's one night tournament this weekend. In the first round he fought Joao Zeferino and lost by heel hook in around 90-seconds. Fellow tournament competitor Mike Ricci won his fight but broke his foot so Foster got a second chance to compete. He beat Luis Palomino by TKO to advance to the finals where he rematched Zeferino, winning by knockout in the closing moments of the second round. So the winner of the eight man tournament lost in the first round and wound up winning the whole damn thing. Pretty cool, huh?

    everyone loves a second chance?

results like this I could live with if it meant the UFC would put stars in tournaments... but I'd prefer the Pride 'over the course of the year' style tournaments
