The Cleveland Cavaliers appear to have beaten the NBA's annual trade buzzer to get LeBron James some of the fresh help he's been openly craving. In a three-way, 11-player trade with Chicago and Seattle that has been submitted for league approval, NBA front-office sources say that Cleveland will come away with four new teammates for James, headlined by Ben Wallace from the Bulls and sharpshooter Wally Szczerbiak from the Sonics. The league office was notified of the deal before Thursday's 3 p.m. ET trading deadline, sources said, and is currently reviewing the trade details as required for formal approval. After Cleveland watched two longstanding trade targets land elsewhere -- Mike Bibby in Atlanta and Jason Kidd in Dallas -- sources say that the deal calls for the Cavaliers to receive Wallace, Szczerbiak, Seattle point guard Delonte West, Chicago's Joe Smith and a future second-round pick from the Bulls. The Bulls, apparently abandoning their gamble on Wallace less than two seasons into the lucrative four-year deal they used to sign him away from Detroit, would get Cavaliers forward Drew Gooden and swingman Larry Hughes along with Cavs reserves Cedric Simmons and Shannon Brown. The Sonics, shedding Szczerbiak in the name of additional payroll flexibility, come away with the expiring contracts of Cleveland's Ira Newble and Chicago's Adrian Griffin as well as Cavs veteran Donyell Marshall. Source. Cleveland may have just gotten alot better.
Interesting move by Cleveland, IMO Wallace is on the decline. I can't recall him doing much against us yesterday? They gave up a lot to get a lot. I think getting Wally and Delonte can be worthwhile.
when u analyze this trade for the cavs, it actually makes things harder for lebron hughes is a scorer and could take pressure off of james at times when they needed a bucket. gooden was also a pretty good scorer in the paint and a good rebounder they just gave up those 2 guys for ben wallace who cant score if his life depended on it and is really not goin to help james on the offensive end of the ball wally is just a shooter which was useless to get when u have the best young shooter in the game already in Daniel Gibson they just made a move to make a move. ben wallace isnt goin to help them, they were already a good defensive team and they didnt need wallace. i actually think this makes the bulls better they needed some1 who was goin to have an impact on the offensive end to help LJ, i actually think the cavs took a step back by making this move
I think a lot depends on the system. Wallace can't be the focal point of the defense. Those Detroit teams all were good to excellent man to man defenders. It helps to block shots when ball handlers are off balance. I think if Cleveland uses him right, he will be back....Brown is a defensive coach and after a slow start, they've picked it up defensively. Wallace will help lessen the rebound load from LBJ. IT's a good trade if the pieces can develop together quickly, if Wally comes in firing and Wallace the back bone of the defense with Z taking the best post offensive player and Wallace play free safety in a sense.
the games will tell how much better the cavs got but i honestly feel they stayed the same. i believe chicago will benefit from this and see improvement hinrich/gordon hughes/sefolosha deng/nocioni gooden/noah Thomas/ gray idk who will play center for them but that looks like a good squad to me better than the one they had before

In my opinon an OT forum is for threads totally unrelated to the forums topic...such as personal news, questions about outside events and other such things... I'm just saying that maybe the OT forum would be better utilized as a place where people can talk Music, Movies, TV, Life Stuff, Questions, Concerns and other truly off topic material... trades, deadline information and stuff like that should be allowed on the main board...just my opinion.
Isn't that what the REGULAR off topic forums are for? Why do the Nets fans have to have their own "little community"? The trade wasn't disccused once, twice, but three times in the Nets forum. That's absolutely ridiculous considering the Nets weren't involved in this trade in the least bit.

Now if it offends you that much what we choose to dicuss, dont click on the link, go read some Celtic related news or something... I dont care. Just dont come here for an arguement. You will be ignored. We are one of the most active communties at sportstwo and we maintain that by talking about almost anything, even NBA news that doesnt directly involve our team. Thankyou for your time and input.

I just think that there's no point in having separate team forums if Nets fans are just going to post topics that don't in the least bit relate to the New Jersey Nets or Nets Basketball. Keep in mind, this post was in the main Nets board, not the OT forum originally. The OT forum is fine but don't post the thread once in the OT forum, again on the main Nets board, again in the NBA general section and another thread or two in the Nets main board or off topic. That's ridiculous, unneccesary and confusing.
I'm not taking anyones side here, but threads like these should go to their proper forums. Not because I mind them being here, but that way, we can spread out the activity at S2. Then we won't have so many dead forums.

Personally I think fans will come here and post...they just need to be alerted to it's existence...
