https://www.sny.tv/rangers/news/lias-andersson-sent-to-hartford-as-r... Andersson sent down, McLeod makes the team. This rebuild is a crock of shit.
No need for hysterics. It was never McLeod vs Andersson, it was Howden vs Anderson. A 4th line winger/13th forward is not taking any playing time from Lias Anderson. I thought Andersson outplayed Howden but looking forward to see what Howden can do. How does keeping him (20 years old) and Chytil (19 years old) Chytil mean the rebuild is a crock of shit? Lias will be back. Pionk made the team as he should have. Who else did you want to see make it? Hajek flashed but isn't ready. Can't hurt for him to get acclimated to the North American game a little more in the A. He was awful his first preseason game but steadily improved and will continue to improve up in Hartford. He's the only one I think had a good shot at making the team but didn't and I have no issue with sending him down to play on the top pair.
Yeah, this is pretty much on target. Hajek is close but needs at least half season in Htfd. A liitle surprising Andersson didn't make it but he also needs some seasoning. Good for Howden. We'll see how it goes with DA and how they split time time up with he and Claesson. This team maybe could be in the WC mix past new year.
Hajek is clearly ready. He is a much better option than Staal or Smith. Chytil sucked pretty much all pre-season. Fontaine was never given a chance to win a 4th line job. If Gorton had traded Namestnikov and Staal like he should have, they could have worked Andersson and Hajek into the lineup. Instead, this is a roster littered with almost all vets. Three prospects playing is not a rebuild. When you put out 5-6 during a season, that is rebuilding.
Last year the Devils had 7 players with no or very little NHL experience in their lineup last year. That's rebuilding.
