5th works for me! I wouldnt have believed you if you told me at the start of the season that we'd finish the season ranked 5th.
Neither would I have believed there was a realistic chance this team would close out the regular season on such a strong note. I remember looking at the last three weeks of the season and thinking to myself that there could be a real chance for a letdown. Kudos to Nate for having these guys mentally prepared and for guys like LaMarcus and others for really stepping up their game when it mattered the most (Brandon has been phenomenal too, but we've been spoiled to think he's going to be that way night in and night out anyway).
I hadn't realized the Kings are looking at a 16 win season. Man, that makes the darkest days of the Blazers seem almost rosy.
I had us at 55 wins at the beginning of the season, so this is right about where I thought we'd be. And I probably would've been pessimistic on that prediction if Oden doesn't have the early foot injury.
I like their young bigs Thompson and Hawes a little bit, but Kevin Martin doesn't do a damn thing for me and Beno Udrih making the full MLE for five years has to be one of the biggest swindles I've ever seen. If they somehow get Rubio and can trade for some veteran help on the wing then I think they've got a decently bright future, they're just way too damn young where they do have talent and way too undertalented where they have experience.
I agree with the poster above me. The Kings' big men are young and green but they have a bright future ahead of them. Blake Griffen is the best player in the draft but he isn't needed as badly as the Kings need a point guard. Beno Udrich is one of the worst starting point guards in the league, if not the worse. They need Ricky Rubio or Brandon Jennings.
Portland, though, is only #10 in the esteemed Денг Гордон power rankings. So, it's not all positive news...
I only watch the Kings when they play Portland, but Martin seems like a pretty nice talent, aside from the health issues. He does seem a little skinny. Kind of reminds me of a more developed Rudy Fernandez....
