O State didnt really handle the ball well against St.Joe's in the Elite 8, G-tech is good at traps & zone. So if they can disrupt the Ostate balll movement. And limit the penetration of Lucus and Tony Allen, I think they can pull off the upset. But they will need BJ Elder back as their go to scorer. Iam not sure if Jarrett Jack can carry the offense load by him self 2 games in a row. They(G-tech) should also see what Luke Sncherr(misspelled) can give them down low early. He was an extremely big pressence down low against the Jayhawks. If he could give them another double -digit game down low G-tech will have generate enuff points to beat Ostate. Which alot of people dont think they can score enuff to win. So Hopefully the Yellow Jackets win the game. But its going to be close In the second matchup right now I dont see how Duke can win. Sheldon Williams wont be able to generate points in the paint with Emeka taking up so much space. And when Sheldon gets into psyhical matchups he tends to get into alot of foul trouble. And end up being a non factor. Chris Duhun hasnt really been a factor on the offense end a tournament. And if he isnt 100% I dont really seem him being a factor on the offense end this game either. Duke needs him to keep up his impressive defense. He got to hound Ben Gordon. If he can contain Gordan than that could be a big impact on the game. Rashard Anderson & JJ Reddick will try to out shoot each other. But Luol Deng will have to carry the offense on the perimeter for Duke. If he doesnt have a big game with Duhun limited now way this game is even close. But I got Uconn winning, so its Uconn & G-tech for the national championship. We can talk about the matchup sunday night.
I'd like Oklahoma State to win it all from a fan's perspective because of the plane crash and all. I'm going with Duke however because their defense is nasty and if they can get UConn in foul trouble I don't see why they can't win. So Duke over OK State in the championship.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">Duke vs. UConn Oklahoma St. vs. Georgia Tech What are your thoughts on the these two games tomorrow?</div> Duke and Oklahoma St. I think Duke will come out in the end and win it. it wont be a blow out but since Duke hase Ewing and Randolph and Loul Deng and Uconn with a hurt star (Emeka Okafor) they will not win but i think the score will be 87to90 Duke with the win all hail Duke
I'm going UConn. I've gone with them since the beginning of the season and am not dropping from them yet. They're currently also playing the best ball out of any team. Granted they haven't played anyone too spectacular, but, they're crushing the teams they have played. Plus, they have the tourney MVP currently in my opinion with Ben Gordon, who, has really found his stroke since the Big East Tourney. The other one, I'd like to go with GTech. They play absolutely great defense and I really like the balance on that team with BJ Elder leading them in scoring by only averaging about 13 ppg I believe. But they have a lot of talent and you don't know who is going to hurt on any given night whether it be Jarret Jack or BJ Elder. And, in the end, UConn will win it all. They're just playing too good to be derailed in my opinion. And, if Emeka Okafor is healthy, there isn't many teams that can beat them. Plus, with the way Rashard Anderson is playing, he gives them three great scoring options. Hard to beat a team with three great scorers at times I think. So, yea, UConn all the way I think.
Okafor will be playing hurt after re-injuring himself in practise 8 minutes until the end. That will certainly have an effect on his play. Expect Shelden Williams and Shavlik Randolph to take it to Emeka from the word go, Duke struggled against Xavier in the first half because they didn't go inside. Once they decided to do that they took control of the game. It's a shame both Duke and Uconn won't be completely heathly with Duhon and Okafor both still hurting. If Anderson is knocking down the three like he has been so far and Gordon has his way with Ewing and Reddick, It will be lights out. I picked Uconn to go all the way but in a way I'm rooting for Duke. I like their style of play, their inside, outside game is fun to watch and their fans always get into the games. As for the other game Georgia Tech will need Elder to at least give them something, they can't win unless he is a factor. Jack has to play to their tempo, they can't let Lucas go off like he did in the 2nd half of the St Joe's game. I have enjoyed watching GT over the course of the season so I will go with them. They to me have the better balence.
Well anything can happen when a team is seeded too high, thus making their trip to the Final Four easier, which is the case with Georgia Tech. They were able to take advantage of the ACC's preferential treatment and upset Oklahoma State. I'm not going to totally bash Tech, though. They once again prove that guard play is what dominates the NCAA. Sure, Luke had a big game, but without their insane guard depth they wouldn't be close to anywhere where they are right now.

I mean this could have been an easy double -digit win for G-tech. But they made alot of unforced mistakes down the stretch of the ball game. And it wasnt a surprise to me that G-tech won. I had G-tech in the National championship from the start of the tournament. They are an extremely well balanced team with alot of depth. All of their perimeter players Jarrett Jack, Will Bynum, BJ Elder & Mohammad can take over a game driving the ball to the basket on penetration. And Luke has been improving all year in the post. He never bring the ball down for it to get strip by a smaller player. He uses his size & hieght perfectly imo. I think he is going to be a difficult matchup for emeka in the National championship game.
By the seeding is what I meant. I figured that Tech would win this game, I never was a big fan of Oklahoma State this season. I wasn't around these boards when the seedings were first released. Did anyone complain about how much the ACC got favored? Wake Forest a 4, NC State a 3, GTech a 3, Maryland a 4...all while the Big Ten regular season champs get a 5? Please.

I do think the big ten champion should of got a higher seed but to be honest I didn't have a problem with teams like Wake and GT getting a 3 and a 4, they are both very good teams in the best overall conference in the nation. I feel playing great ACC teams all season long an coming out of there with a decent record deserves more credit than the schedule the teams in the big 10 had. I don't really rate that conference one bit. Georgia Tech have so much balence, they have the inside outside game. Big Luke inside has really improved as the season has gone on. He has become a dominant force in the paint and on the backboards. When you have a guy like Elder give you basically nothing in the last two games and still make the championship game It shows how good a team you have. He is playing hurt so It's not like he is out of form. Was it me or did he travel everytime he touched the ball last night? Paul Hewitt has done a very good job this year coaching those guys and getting them ready for big time games no matter who is out on the floor. They deserve to be in the championship game.
