Finally some sense from the Yankees Brass... "We want Robbie back; we think Robbie is terrific," Levine said Tuesday in a telephone conversation with ESPNNewYork.com. "But we have no interest in doing any 10-year deals and no interest in paying $300 million to any player. Until he gets a little more realistic, we have nothing to talk about.'' http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id/10000111/new-york-yankees-want-robinson-cano-return-not-going-pay-300-million-him
Good. Now stick to it. 6 year contract max for 150 and if don't like that tell him to join jay-z on tour.
...does anyone seriously think that the Yanx will give Cano either 10 years OR $310 Mil?...like messiah said, he "stated the obvious".
The obvious has been missing from the Yankees over the past few years. But Messiah was right in his observation. I don't think the obvious has to be in the form of 10 years or 300 million dollar contracts. The obvious would be for example, Why a 2 year contract for Ichiro, Why Wells, Why Hafner, and the complete apparent disregard for the obvious. Why Stewart, Why cut outfielders who would of have more production than Ichiro given the same number of AB's. (Boesch)
...I understand the point, but none of those players is asking or were given 10 year contracts. I was only saying that the fact that there's no way Cano will get that kind of deal is "obvious".
