Fiore Rejects Laughable Lazio Link
Mantova ace Stefano Fiore has laughed off the idea that he's en route to Lazio, having pledged his future to the Serie B outfit...
Valencia outcast Stefano Fiore joined Serie B outfit Mantova this summer, president Fabrizio Lori breaking the bank to bring the 38-timed capped former Azzurri international to the Danilo Martelli. Before leaving for that ill-fated spell in Spain, Fiore played for Lazio, with whom he enjoyed his finest days as a player and, indeed, almost all of his international recognition. Fiore's return to form in Serie B has coincided with a tough start to the season for Lazio back in the top flight, with some saying that the Roman side are set to make a shock swoop for their old prodigy. The player himself, however, doesn't believe such rumours for a second. "I heard these tales of my joining Lazio and had a laugh with president Lori about it," said the 32 year old midfielder. "We laughed, because you hear so many untruths these days. "I have committed myself to Mantova and I'm very happy that I did so. I'm concentrated here, and all I care about is getting this club to Serie A." Mantova finished 8th in the second tier last time around, but they have endured a mixed start to the current campaign as they sit mid-table with 11 points from a possible 24. Still, they have a game in hand over most of the front-runners.

Fiore is full of crap when not only a year ago he was hoping to return to Lazio after horrific spells at Valencia and Livorno.

Well, the Serie B is a very important league still. It is considered to be higher quality then many European nations' first leagues. In any case though, I think Fiore is just beating around the bush and is sour that Lazio have not made any offers for him that pleasure his ego.

As for the CC championship, the second league in the bundesliga is much better than the CC.

La Liga is the top ranked first division in the world.

I also don't get how thedebate of which second division is better got started when I originally wrote that Serie B has higher quality football then many first divisions like let's say Austria's Bundesliga and Norway's Tippeligaen, etc. That's why I wrote to re-read and try again.

Also, we're going to all have to agree to disagree on which second division is actually better because there is not going to be a real answer to that without personal opinions at the front of the discussion.

I gave my opinion on that a while back actually, but JBB hadn't merged yet so I don't think you've seen it. Basically I wrote that the Swiss Axpo is on the rise faster then any other mid-level European first division. Why is this? Check out their new television and monster sponsorship deals! Expect it to be at or around the top five leagueswith 14 clubs total in 5 to 10 years.

I kind of follow it a bit, since a lot of albanians play there, a lot of them being born there now are making it to the u21 and probably will play for swiss national team.
