That's immediately what I thought also. One thing about the Nets though is that money is an issue so they might not be very eager to fire a coach and still pay him for 2 or 3 years.

As much as some of us want frank out he still has two years remaining on his deal. Thorn isn't yet going to get rid of him or else we get off to a horrible start to the season. Plus Chicago or Dallas might be a better fit for D'antoni.

If Don Nelson decides to hang it up this summer, which is the rumor every summer, I could see Golden State as the perfect place for D'Antoni

Unless the Nets made him a huge offer, doubt it, why would he come here?

This would be one of his last choices. Frank is pretty much sealed up here but a coaching combo of Frank and D'Antoni would be great for the Nets.

The most likely options for coach D'Antoni would be Toronto since they dropped out of the first round, or even Atlanta.

I don't see how he could work with this team. There's not enough shooters, and there never will be.

Rather than filling this board, every day, with meaningless, tiresome posts about who should replace Frank (He isnt being fired, nor should he be), those who cannot contain themselves on this topic should take action.

Bruce Ratner is NOT the largest stockholder in the Nets. He owns 7%. Forest City Enterprises, the parent corporation for his Forest City Ratner, owns 21% and is responsible for most of the team's financial losses. Luckily for you, it is a publicly traded company. You can buy stock in it! The stock is reasonably priced at $37.50 today. As shareholders, you can petition the company to fire Frank. You can propose shareholder resolutions. You can speak at the annual meeting and hold up signs, stand in silent protests with bags over your heads. If there are enough of you, you can get some attention in the media.

I concur with the last post. Its getting old already with this "FIRE FRANK" theme.. come on we heard Thorn he wont fire him unless he has another terrible season next year, or some miracle happens. We all know that.

I blame the idle chatter on the fact that Nets fans have recently been used to having Nets games to watch in April.

Yeah, nothing else to really talk about...only three picks in a deep draft, including a lottery pick; the broad agreement that Thorn snookered Cuban in the Kidd trade; Kidd's demise; two trade exceptions, a mid level exception and a lower level exception, the cleverness that turned KVH's contract into an expiring contracts, lists of beat reporters' free agent targets, etc., etc.

Banality, it appears, finds its only level, like water.

Personally I think some fans would prefer to lose with a team that's great offensively and shitty defensively, rather than watch a team thats decent defensively but god awful offensively.

Makes a defensive minded coach like Frank an easy target...especially taking into account the fact that since the 13 game win streak he had when he first took over as coach he has essentially coached a .500 ballclub, never meeting expectations in terms of standings.

I digress, the fact is we need to fix the roster first, concentrating on our draft picks, trade assets and other scenarios...then once thats accomplished if Frank can't get it done I will truly piss and moan.

Why the hell is Frank still around? Are we just letting him coach the final years in Jersey then dump him?

There's a better chance of bringing Chuck Daly back.

No way D'antoni is an option for the Nets. He's going to Canada...

Also fans see coaches who have been much better than Frank such as D'Antoni and Avery Johnson getting fired so it's hard to not be restless.
