Just as Lillard drags this team into the playoffs annually, so he drags Stotts' wins upward. IF not for that, and on top of that being best buds with our franchise player, Stotts would be (and most definitely should have been) fired, at the latest last off-season. The Blazers brass did a massive dis-service to the fans and to the players by not bringing in another coach to try to maximize their chances in the post-saeson - especially after that playoff debacle last season. Can't wait for some change in this franchise - particularly the way they are run. . .
I know this is not the best Time to Update this Thread, but all Threads i found about Stotts was "Fire Stotts" or "Stotts should be fired" and the list goes on and on haha. Anyway this is really interesting
I knew when I saw someone say this shouldnt come up this week, that it would be up on the top of the stack soon.
If the Blazers win a series against the “invincible” Thunder, will anyone change their mind about Stotts?
Honestly, many won't. I might be persuaded, depending on his actual impact. Just handing the ball to Dame and hoping he has a great series won't impress me.
If we get swept then Stotts needs to worry. But I believe if we take it to 6th or 7th game I say Olshey doesn't fire him. But again if we don't get out of the 1st round then Olshey has to break up this team. But I say Stotts at least will finish his contract out. I not saying he should due there a lot things Stotts does I dont agree with but I not decision maker either.
I mentioned this before...Stotts is now the new "Zen Master".....and didn't Phil hand the ball to MJ? People don't talk about Luc Longley as the legend after all.
That bench rotation last night at least deserves questioning. Because Dame rescued the game doesn't mean it wasn't highly questionable.
