<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">STRIKER Kenny Miller was quick to shoot down two suggestions fired at him in the build-up to Sunday?s Old Firm encounter here at Celtic Park. One was that, because of the current 19-point chasm the champions have over their Ibrox rivals, Rangers have more at stake and pride would give them a bigger desire for the result? And the other was that both sides would be bereft of energy after strength-sapping and mentally demanding European games in midweek. Dealing with the latter first he guaranteed that no-one in the Celtic squad would need fired up for this one. He said: ?I know for a fact that our boys put a lot of effort into Wednesday night but this is an Old Firm game and you don?t need a lot of motivation. ?I?m sure both sets of players will be right up for it and looking to get the win on Sunday.? And the notion that Rangers would be hungrier for a win was also given short-shrift from Miller. He said: ?That?s not the case at all. We don?t want to get beat and if we win we will go even further ahead so there?s no way we are going to settle for a draw or accept defeat. ?We want to win the game on Sunday and if that means we beat Rangers and then go on to win the league the following week then we will go for that. ?We want to win as much a they do.? Miller opened his Celtic account against his former employers in the first Old Firm clash of the season when the Celts won 2-0 in September and that game was followed up by the 1-1 draw at Ibrox in December. Rangers have since said au revoir to Paul Le Guen and former Scotland boss Walter Smith has returned to Ibrox in a bid to steady a somewhat shaky ship. Miller, however, knows that this was always going to be a tough game no matter the circumstances surrounding it. He said; ?Obviously, working with Walter Smith and Ally McCoist with the national team, you know they are going to have them up for it, they are going to be well-organised and they are a good team. ?They?ve got a lot of good players in that team and it?s an Old Firm derby so we are expecting a really tough game. ?We?ve not had an easy game against them this year. We won 2-0 at home and were a bit unlucky to draw at Ibrox after losing a goal in the last couple of minutes. ?But we are looking to win this game again, we know it will be tough but I think we?ve got enough quality in our team to win the three points.? And the thought of more Champions League football next season has inspired Miller and his Celtic team-mates to tie up the fate of the championship sooner rather than later. He said of Wednesday?s extra-time 1-0 defeat to AC Milan in the San Siro: ?It was a great run. It?s a step that the club were looking to take in progressing in the Champions League and we?ve done that this year. ?It?s a bit unfortunate that we didn?t progress further but we were under the cosh on Wednesday and Artur?s made three or four fantastic saves that basically kept us in the game. ?But we had two big penalty shouts, particularly the hand-ball as I think it was a stonewaller. ?I saw the pictures in the press yesterday and he blatantly blocked it with both hands so if we had got that it obviously would have been a different game but that never happened and we can?t look back on it. ?We had a great run, we?ve enjoyed it and we?re looking to progress again next year. ?It gives you the desire to go further next year. Those nights make you realise how much you enjoy them and you want to play at that level every year and, obviously, to do that we need to win the league every year. ?So we want to be there again next year and, hopefully, get to the last 16 and maybe even further.?</div> Source - Celtic FC - News Easy Game
We should have won in the first half and after Rangers scored we just layed back and let them come at us ... shocking performance ... Gordan Strachan's tactics fail again.
