It was a sick pick too. This guy is becoming one of the better defensive players in the league.

He's easily becoming one of the top tier LBers in the league. Beason came out of that draft too and looks really good. Ditto on Poz before he got injured. Looks like it could be a very strong LBer class.

I'm still amazed he went 12th. Many teams will regret passing him up.

niners got a good one, hopefully lawson can re-establish himself and we can have a nice defense going forward.

What's going on with Lawson? He's such an athletic freak. I remember that draft... we were sitting at 18 and had our choice of Lawson or Carpenter and we went Carpenter. At the time, I thought it made sense... but I always wondered about Lawson...

he was really good his rokie year, basically replaced julian peterson, but can also play some end. since then he has had injury problems, acl i think? but he has all the tools to become a beast imo.

if we can get a good defense going this year, we might be able to squeak into the playoffs in the nfc west.

Your division is very much up for grabs, with an injured and struggling Seattle team... and an always underperforming (it seems) Arizona team, and the inept Rams...

I know one of the things that has hurt Carpenter for us... is the constant shuffling of his position. I know you guys shuffle between a 3-4 and 4-3... could this possibly be the reason for Lawson not breaking out yet?

Truth. Isn't Parys Harylson supposed to be a nice player too?

Totally pointless little tidbit, but I always draft Lawson in Madden when I doing fantasy draft franchises. AUTOMATIC punt blocks. Dude is fast.

    And I always grab Willis b/c he's flat-out awesome.

I heard my Niner-fan friends talking about how Manny Lawson hasn't even played a single snap on defense all season. I always told them that the dude sucked ass and I never understood the hype and they're just now coming to realize it.

Just glad the Raiders got Thomas Howard in the second round instead. Dudes a BEAST. One of the fastest LBs in the NFL and one of the best coverage LBs in the NFL.
