in the NIT Preseason NIT tourament.Seeing players like Ben Gordon,Emeka Okafor and Denham Brown do will be interesting. They are my favourites for the NCAA championship...Ben Gordon has been impressive so far..Remind me alot of Jason Terry.

I honestly think this Connecticut team is overrated. No team goes from not in the tournament to number one with one year of experience. Unfortunately they play one of the ultimate powder-puff schedules. Sad. That'll bite them come tournament time. I think Connecticut will remain first, second, third, or fourth all throughout the year but they have no chance in the tournament.

They may be overrated somewhat but they have very talented players.Emeka Okafor with another year under his belt is very dangerous and he has improved his post game.while being a beast on defense.Ben Gordon is a good player...can score well although isn't a guy you can depend on to run an offense. If not uconn who will or are the favourites to win the title.I feel this is their year...time will tell on this one.Duke I feel will make a big push to the title..Deng could be last years Carmelo Anthony.

I would just say that they are favorites to finish with the best record and in first place. The favorites to win it all should be the experienced teams like Duke, Arizona, Michigan State, or even (God Forbid) Kansas. Those teams have tournament experience and with the exception of Duke, all of those teams have outstanding schedules (especially MSU) and will be used to the crowds, pressure, and quality opponents.

This is the kind of thing where you have to wait and see what happens.Duke I feel will at least make the final four....Deng is a very good young player who as I said could easily perform like Carmelo Anthony did last season.I'm still not sold on Michigan State..Although I do need to watch them play more to judge them.

Anyways this is about Uconn..My first real look at them this season...

Connecticut plays the powder-puff schedule of the century so they'll probably end up with the best record, but they are missing out on experience. Has Okafor ever been to the tournament? With little tourny experience and a weak schedule they will get crushed in one of the big tournament games agaisnt a team like (as you said) Duke.

It's fine if you aren't sold on Michigan State yet. They lost to Kansas and all, but did you see the end of that game when Michigan State went on a run? I think that is the team you will be seeing this year. Just wait untill the Duke game.

Yes that Duke game will be one to watch.Should be a very good match-up on both ends. The more Michigan State games I see the more I might change my opinion of them which likely will happen.I did see the end of the game yes..Their comeback was impressive..and It looked like they were going to pull it off at one stage.Plenty of fight in that team.

This is my first real full season watching college basketball,so bare with me on this [IMG]

Ben Gordan and Dehnam Brown real impressed me in there first games this year. I think Dehnam Brown got alot of expireience from playing in the Olympic Qualifiers. Your right allnet Ben Gordan is very similar to Jason Terry.

I see Ben Gordon as more of a Ray Allen, less outside shooting and more penetrating version of him. Gordon is a little smaller (6-3 or so) and Allen is like 6-5.

Elder were a joy to watch.Boy can Muhammad jump [IMG]

    Who called it?

*Looks around to see noone else*

Haha, I love it when I'm right. Okafor may have been hurting, but that's no excuse. They'll have stuff like that and if Okafor really means that much to the team then they are screwed come tournament time.

By the way, Connecticut will be waxed by top twenty-five worthy Utah coming up here. I am calling it. Anyone dare to take me on in a sig/avitar bet?

    *Checks last years schedule

ooh-Look Syracuse lost their first game very early in the season. What a terrible season they had...Oh wait no they didn't*.[IMG]

You aren't right til march madness time..Right now It is too early to say who will win it all.

Also like I said my opinions will likely change as the season goes on...So gloating about this loss is pointless.I'm more of an Okafor fan.but I like the way they play...and who they have on that roster.

Yea, the UConn loss early on is surprising. But, it is very early and they did lose to a pretty good Georgia Tech team. We'll see if UConn is for real when it gets to around midseason when teams are beginning to get fatigued. But, until then, it is still early so we really can't say anything.

If UConn is ranked over Michigan State I will have to personally slap the Associated Press.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting allnet:</div><div class="quote_post">You have alot of slapping to do then </div>I'll believe it when I see it. Michigan State lost by seven at Kansas (#5 team) while Connecticut lost by fourteen or sixteen at a nuetral location to Georgia Tech (Unranked team) and they will soon lose to Utah on Friday.

I was not impressed at all last night by Conneticut's play. There is no way they should be ranked the number one team in the nation. They were overated going into the game, and they left with a loss. Im not buying an Emeka injury excuse either, a great team should be able to step up when someone is injured and beat a non-ranked team.

Wave, I agree that Conneticut should not be ranked higher than Michigan State.

They didn't look very impressive yesterday..But using the tag of Michigan only losing by 7 to Kansas while Uconn lost to Georgia Tech is really pointless...Uconn is still missing a few players BTW

I would like to point out Just because I said I thought Uconn was the favourite at the start of this topic doesn't mean I will feel like that come end of the season. My opinions will likely change...We shall see how good Uconn really is.I myself had doubts after seeing last night's game.

Do you know how Dehnam Brown played? Wow Georgia Tech shocked me. What a night for Chris Bosh he played good and the Raptors beat Atlanta and Georgia Tech beat the number 1 team.
