<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Now that the Grizzlies have completed a rather fine draft, floating around in my mind are ways to keep the momentum going.

The team has to solicit more than 19 announced sellouts in the well-constructed FedExForum and there are more than a few ways to make that happen.

Center Lorenzen Wright publicly suggested that the Grizzlies trade him if they aren't willing to discuss a contract extension. Griz president Jerry West is on record saying that he doesn't react well to threats so here's a solution that benefits both parties. Concoct a deal that sends Wright to San Antonio for center Nazr Mohammed.

West has chased Mohammed since the player's Atlanta days and he's tried replacing Wright for three summers. Both are in the final years of their contracts. The Spurs get rebounding and defense, and someone who can bury a 12-foot jump shot next to Tim Duncan. The Grizzlies get a bigger body and someone they covet without having the contract situation threatening the season.

Improve the game production. In a word, the experience inside FedExForum is boring. The team's attempt to go with "class" is admirable but atypical in the professional sports arena. Fans may not want raunchy but they expect an experience to remember and they want to feel like they've been taken for a ride and not to a rest home.

Sign the divorce decree with Jason Williams at all costs. As much as some insiders want you to believe that Bonzi Wells is a complete goofball, the Griz fined Williams enough money to feed a starving country for his swept-under-the-rug, behind-the-scenes foolishness this past season. Wells, while not totally innocent, doesn't deserve all the blame for his departure.

Don't bring back the male dancers when the team holds its annual dance team tryouts in August. Just bad karma: See second suggestion.

Get over not being able to draft prep star Gerald Green. Get going. Get over it. Use that energy to get involved in the Jamaal Magloire sweepstakes. He's on the trading block. He'd work here. He's better than the reportedly available Eddy Curry.

There. That should fix all of the flats. </div>

The only thing I agreed with in that article was that the Grizzlies need to ditch the male dancers. What the hell is up with that? The team's not in Canada anymore.

I can't understand why he wants Mohammed on the Grizzlies. He's just a less talented, shorter, and less productive version of Lorenzen Wright. If I were the Grizzlies, I'd shop Wright, but not for a Jerome James type player who just has a high trade value because of his size. I want a player who can actually step in and be a force in the paint like Wright was.

I also don't understand what he means by improving game production. I always thought the intro was just as good as any intro in the NBA, and the half-time shows are usually good. It's not college basketball. What does he expect?

Anyway, so the Grizzlies trade Wright for Mohammed, ditch Williams, and fire the male dancers. Are they fixed? Far from. Terrible article and a waste of my time.
