Glad to know that Johnson is on board with Flip being a big part of the team's success. They can play together since both are versatile enough to play both guard positions -- and Joe big enough to even play small forward sometimes.

It's up to Woody to distribute the minutes because Flip is not a high energy guy. If he doesn't get the necessary minutes to get into a flow of a game you are better off just benching him entirely. Once he gets into a rhythm though he is virtually unguardable.

He's the only player in the league that goes from being either the 12th man on a roster to the number one guy when a starter goes down. I've yet to see him flourish off of the bench, except when he played for the Sonics when they made a playoff push late in the 2003-2004 season. These preseason games are going to be important for him to solidify himself as the top option in both spots coming off of the bench. If he is going to share time with Acie Law (or only play behind Joe Johnson) it is really going to hurt Flip's production.

Woody's job is on the line, so I'm hoping that he puts the best players on the court and not worry about developing the younger players at the expense of winning games. We'll see.

I'm pulling for him. I loved what I saw in Seattle when he replaced Ray Ray.
