I hate this time of year as a football fan. There's no draft to look forward to and speculate about, free agency is pretty much non-existant, June 1st may bring a little fun, but nothing noteworthy, and of course, the season is a long ways off. Training camp seems like it is way off in the future and all I'm left with is baseball at its least exciting time and a few playoff games for leagues I'm not nearly as interested in.

So now is the dark ages of football - time to find another hobby.

It's summer vacation time for sure. No football, all the shows on TV are re-runs, what better time of year is there other than Sept/Oct/Nov?

Hey there is still one draft left, the supplemental draft. Ahmad Brooks, MLB, who would have likely of been a 1st rounder is entering the supplemental draft

This thread was somewhat misleading IMO. I thought we were talking about a specific period of time where something bad happened.

As for getting another hobby, It's summer so there is always movies or an outdoor activity - hiking in the local canyons works for me.

The time will pass quickly fellas, trust me. Well, unless you're 18 or younger then it will drag. It seems like New Year's '06 was just yesterday, lol. What I do to pass the time is go fishing, watch the Patriots' website, watch rival teams' websites such as Denver, Indy, Pitt, etc. to see what is going on with their teams. Fall will be here before you know it.

During this time of the year I'm working my ass off at a factory. But starting in late August it's going college, delivering pizza, and watching football. I can't wait 110 days until the Vikings season starts.

Did you actually just suggest that time passes and then tell us to trust you? Oh wise Patriot fan, your knowledge of the world and the passage of time are remarkable....without your wisdoms, many of us would have labored under the impression that time would not pass and the summer would linger on forever....we would be wandering through this dark age, searching for a cave to pee in and a mammoth to kill and roast....you have saved us much tribulation....for this, we will always be greatful....you truely are the wise man among the dumb....

You know, I bet the people of Narnia initially thought that summer was right around the corner - its nice to have a little optimism from time to time.

I suggested that time passes QUICKLY, numb nuts. Even you with your room temperature IQ should know that time passes. I can't wait for the Pats/Dolphins games in '06. Fucker.

Actually, you suggested that time passes differently for people of different ages. Even if I infer that you are refering to the perception of the passing of time, I would disagree with that criteria for determining how the passage of time is perceived. Have you heard the old saying, "Time flies when your having fun?" I know that time seems to pass much slower when I am sick or in extreme pain. The missed point of this thread is that time seems to be passing more slowly now because we all love NFL football and the NFL isn't playing right now.

I won't speak for Beef, but as far as your beef with Beef goes, perhaps if the Patriot fans, in general, weren't so condesending when it comes to not accepting defeat perhaps people wouldn't take condesending remarks to heart so quickly.

As for the Dolphins/Patriot games, I'm looking forward to them as well. The Dolphins are improving all the time. Are the Patriots? My prediction for the games? If the Patriots win, the DWO will offer congrats like we always have for the win. (barring any snow plow like shinanigans.) If the Dolphins win, Patriots fans won't offer anything. (except excuses)

Here's the link to the first Dolphins/Patriots postgame thread last year when the Pats won. http://www.nfl-forums.com/forums/t4125-11-...s-Dolphins.html

I would post the Pats congrats on the Dolphins win in week 17, but I couldn't find it.

so your saying even though the Patriots lose and possibly twice to that team (let's call them team X), the Patriots are still better than Team X then.

Man I might need to check the rule book on that one.

Seems ludicrous, but it happened last year. When patriots lost to denver twice after playoff loss, pats_fan420 "informed" us that the loss proved that the patriots were the better team.

The Pats are closest thing that the NFL has for a dynasty currently. So, its feasible that some of Belichick & Pioli's wisdom would trickle down to their fans. ROFL.
