How many games did he play hurt before that? He shouldn't have been on the field at all. That kid earned a lot of respect that season.
He was injured in the prior game against ASU. He then made the decision to play in the AZ game despite the injury. I really think that he would have won the Heisman if it wasn't for that disaster.

Well, not the whole state. I did feel bad for the guy (why the heck did Belotti even play him) because he was a warrior, but can't say I was deflated.
Just as bad (imo) was when the AZ fans flocked the field after they won, as if it was some big accomplishment. Congrats, you beat the already thin Oregon Ducks without their star player and an absolutely deflated team. Lest I remind you that the Ducks were completely dominating until Dixon went out.
