Force Can't Erase First Half Struggles, Drop 103-98 Contest to Motor City

    The Sioux Falls Skyforce dropped a 103-98 decision to the Motor City Cruise on Wednesday evening in the series finale at the Wayne State Fieldhouse.

    The Skyforce (1-9), who trailed by as many as 22 points and shot 24 percent in the first half, were able to get the lead down to two points late in the fourth quarter. Detroit Pistons assignee Saben Lee (43 points on 12-19 FGA and six assists) powered the Cruise (7-4) down the stretch to earn the series sweep.

    Mike Smith (career-tying 17 points and four assists) led Sioux Falls in scoring for the first time this season. Dru Smith added 15 points on 6-10 FGA and two steals, while Jay Henderson posted a career-high 12 points on 4-4 3PA.

    Miami HEAT two-way player Marcus Garrett (11 points and eight rebounds) secured his eighth game this season scoring in double figures. Garrett has also posted nine-plus rebounds in four-of-seven outings this season.

    Detroit Pistons assignee Isaiah Livers played 09:43 minutes in his first contest since November 23, while Pistons two-way player Jamorko Pickett chipped in four points and eight rebounds.

    The Skyforce will head across Lake Michigan for a battle with the Windy City Bulls (2-7) on Saturday and Sunday. Tip-off for Saturday's matchup is at 7:00 PM CST. Motor City will face the Cleveland Charge (6-4) on Friday.
